It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy being given a platform to produce her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it's been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive instincts take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to play and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was out Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last competing nations at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
